About the Role:

We are seeking a  Psychologist to join our growing team. We are open to a subcontractor arrangement, full time employment or part time employment. We are happy to negotiate rates and salaries to suit you. We can also offer flexible hybrid arrangements to suit your lifestyle! 

Duties/Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing effective, therapy to children and families within a clinical setting (private paying clients, home visits NDIS funded clients and clients with Medicare plans)
  • Liaise and consult with educational staff and facilities, external referrers and our multidisciplinary team.
  • Writing of clear, concise notes (goals, progress, recommendations) using Cliniko platform and provision of reports/home/school programs as requested (communicating assessed needs clearly and precisely to client and funding organisation within appropriate time frames)
  • Previous experience in paediatric counselling is essential;
  • Experience working with children 0 – 18 years and their families and with developmental assessments;
  • Knowledge and experience working in transdisciplinary teams;
  • Experience and a strong passion for working with children, young people and families;
  • Provide therapy interventions and supports in collaboration with others, particularly within a key worker/transdisciplinary team approach.
  • Passion for making a difference with a focus on making therapy fun, engaging and meaningful for families.
  • Providing evidence informed therapy services to clients and NDIS participants building on family/client strengths, needs and priorities.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders and ensure ongoing communication, leadership and support are provided to deliver quality services and supports.
  • Ensure a focus on continuous improvement through regular evaluation, training and review.
  • Participation in team meetings and internal professional development opportunities

Skills and Qualifications

    • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or AASW;
    • Possess the ability to provide counselling, and offer knowledge of therapeutic interventions, to children, young people and parents who present with issues related to mental health, trauma, behavioural issues, as well as general wellbeing;
    • Experience in completing risk assessments and mental health assessments;
    • Compliance – AHPRA registration, Working with Children Check, National Police Check, Covid-19 vaccination certificate or exemption
    • Current Professional Indemnity Insurance and the ability to obtain an Australian Business Number (ABN) and Medicare provide number.

    • The ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with colleagues, clients and key stakeholders
    • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously in a complex environment characterised by competing demands and tight timelines
    • Demonstrated written communication skills including the ability to produce accurate client files and referral documentation
    • The ability to positively contribute to the team environment and support other team members
